Disease prevention occupies an important place. For this, you should be clear about the vaccination schedule; be consistent and prudent and ensure that your cat receives the necessary vaccinations on time and in the right way, from their first weeks of life.
INITIAL MATERNAL
PROTECTION
Vaccination is always the best route to prevention. Diseases lie in wait for your cat from the first months of their life, from the very moment when they have contact with the outside world. However, their system will give them all the resources to protect themselves from external attacks. Their immune system will combat the micro-organisms present in the environment with the initial defences that their mother passed to them whilst nursing them, and which will suffice for them during the first 30 to 40 days of life. After this time, their immunisation becomes vital.
Avoid any toys that they might swallow, protect your balconies and windows, avoid them having contact with other animals that may harm them, and take chemical products and bait that could poison them out of their sight.
FIRST MEDICAL
EXAMINATION
The vaccination schedule can begin at nine weeks, which is the time when you should take your little kitten to the vet for the first time. There they will confirm that the kitten does not have any parasites through a simple analysis of their stools, and they will rule out leukaemia and feline immunodeficiency. These tests are crucial, because your cat can start to be vaccinated when all these results come back negative.
VACCINATION
PROCESS
The vaccination process will be explained by the vet.
THE RIGHT
FOOD
Similarly, it is very important that on the day that you take your cat to be vaccinated, they are totally healthy and, especially, that they have a very good food plan in place, because this will be a great help to strengthen their immune system. The right intake of nutrients will enable them to receive the vaccine in suitable conditions, ensuring its effectiveness.
